Elitserien (chess) 1996/97
In the 1996/97 season , the defending champions SK Rockaden Stockholm and the Schacksällskapet Manhem were able to outclass the competition significantly; the win in direct comparison gave Rockaden Stockholm the sixth title in a row. In the previous year the Schacksällskapet Luleå , Åstorps Schacksällskap and Linköpings ASS were promoted . While Luleå achieved relegation, Åstorp and Linköping had to relegate together with Limhamns SK . Events
The competitions were held on October 27, November 17, December 8, 1996 January 19, 2 and 23 February and on the 7th, 8th and 9th March 1997. The last three rounds were central in Eksjö played .
