Enslaved -

Enslaved is the eighth studio album of Metal - band Soulfly . It was released on Roadrunner Records in March 2012 .

Origin and style

The album was recorded in late 2011 at Tallcat Studios in Arizona and Frick'In Studios in California . For the first time played Asesino frontman Tony Campos bass. The former drummer of Borknagar , David Kinkade , is heard on drums. He joined the group after they separated from predecessor Joe Nunez. Guests on the album were u. a. Dez Fafara ( DevilDriver , Coal Chamber ) and Travis Ryan from Cattle Decapitation . Ryan replaced the originally intended Adam Warren from Oceano , who had to cancel shortly beforehand.

The album deals with the subject of slavery in various ways. Max Cavalera originally planned this topic for a Sepultura album based on Roots . Musically, Davide Kinkade described the album as " Arise on Crack ".

The album cover was designed by the tattoo artist Leo Zulueta .
