The 2016/17 Eredivisie was the seventh season of the Dutch women's Eredivisie . The season began on September 2, 2016 and ended with the last game of the championship and placement round on May 26, 2017. Ajax Amsterdam became champions for the first time . There was no relegation. The Telstar team returned to Alkmaar after the season and entered the following season as VV Alkmaar. In some statistics, the team is already listed as VV Alkmaar this season.
