The 2008-09 Eredivisie was the second season of the Dutch women's eredivisie . As in the previous year, AZ Alkmaar was the champion .

In the second season since the introduction of the Eredivisie for women, the AZ Alkmaar players prevailed again . For the first time the league started with seven teams. The year before there were only six. The ladies from Roda JC Kerkrade were new . A total of 28 game days were played. The first matchday began on August 21, 2008, the last ended the following year on May 28, 2009. In the very first match of the season between FC Twente Enschede and Willem II Tilburg , the game had to be abandoned when the score was 0: 1 the lighting system had failed. The game was laid out 3-0 in favor of the guests.

There were 243 goals in the entire competition. With fourteen goals, Sylvia Smit from SC Heerenveen was the best attacker. The most dangerous attack was the master AZ with a total of 45 goals, whereby Chantal de Ridder (10 goals) and Claudia van den Heiligenberg (11 goals) together scored almost half of the total number of goals. The best foreign striker was Jessica Fishlock from Welsh , who scored five goals. So she improved the record of the Belgian Femke Maes , who could only score four goals last year. However, only 20 games were played, eight fewer. Newcomer Roda JC only managed 22 goals of his own and thus set the negative value of this season. In addition, they conceded 65 goals. No other team had to kick the ball more often than the Kerkrader women. SC Heerenveen celebrated the biggest win on November 13, 2008 with a 6-1 away win against Roda JC Kerkrade. The ADO Den Haag team achieved the highest home win by beating Roda JC 5-0.
