The year before there were only six. The ladies from Roda JC Kerkrade were new . A total of 28 game days were played. The first matchday began on August 21, 2008, the last ended the following year on May 28, 2009. In the very first match of the season between FC Twente Enschede and Willem II Tilburg , the game had to be abandoned when the score was 0: 1 the lighting system had failed.
