history
The St. Galluskirche was founded in Erzberg from St. Peter and Paul (Wettringen) . In 1330 this parish was given, in 1393 it became independent. In 1544 the parish became Evangelical Lutheran. In 1723 the parish had 419 members, in 1778 there were 514. In 1800 there were 20 parish rights in Erzberg, of which 2 were subject to the imperial city of Rothenburg and 18 to the Teutonic Order .
With the community edict (early 19th century), the tax district Erzberg was formed, to which the villages Arzbach , Grüb , Harlang , Kleinmühlen and Rothof belonged. A little later the rural community of Erzberg was formed, to which the villages of Arzbach, Bastenau , Harlang, Kleinmühlen and Rothhof belonged. It was subordinate to the regional court of Rothenburg in administration and jurisdiction . The municipality had an area of 7,924 km². In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria (1971) this was incorporated into Wörnitz.
