Fábio Bilica (born January 4, 1979 in Campina Grande , Brazil) is a Brazilian football player .
Bilica's real name is Fábio Alves da Silva . His father gave him the nickname “Bilica” because his son was passionate about eating lollipops, which is exactly what they are called in Brazil . When Fábio's football career began, he decided to use it as a stage name.
Career
In the club
From a sporting point of view, he never stayed with a club for long. Partly because he did not feel comfortable there himself, partly because his performance was simply not enough to continue working. During the 2004/05 season, 1. FC Cologne brought him to strengthen his defense. On January 28, 2005 he made his debut in the 8-1 win of the billy goats against Wacker Burghausen in the 2nd Bundesliga. Although he was allowed to participate in almost all games, he had to leave the club again at the end of the season. In Cologne he fell victim to the new trainer Uwe Rapolder . With his predecessor Huub Stevens he was still a regular player. In the summer of 2005 he moved to the top Brazilian club FC Santos before joining FC Istres in the French second division just six months later . After his contract was not renewed after the club's relegation in summer 2007, he was without a club for a few months until the Romanian club Universitatea Cluj signed him in December 2007 . But even here he only played for half a year. In the summer of 2008 he was signed by the Turkish first division club Sivasspor . For Sivasspor Bilica completed 39 competitive games in which he scored two goals. For the 2009/10 season he moved to Fenerbahçe Istanbul for 2.5 million euros and signed a three-year contract. Then Fábio Bilica moved free of charge for the 2012/13 season to newly promoted Elazığspor for two years. With his new club, he secured himself as a regular member of the class. It was hardly ever used in the first half of the 2013/14 season . At the end of the season Elazığspor had to relegate. He stayed with the club in the 1st Lig. He was suspended in March 2015 before his contract was terminated in early April 2015.
In the national team
Bilica played from 1998 to 2000 in the Brazilian U-23 or Olympic team and also took part in the soccer tournament of the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney . There he played together with Ronaldinho , Lúcio , Fábio Aurélio and Alex and reached the quarterfinals as group winners of the preliminary round, after which they were eliminated after extra time against the eventual Olympic gold winner Cameroon .
