Fabio Pfohl (born October 18, 1995 in Mühldorf am Inn ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Grizzlys Wolfsburg in the German ice hockey league since November 2019 .
Career
Pfohl comes from an ice hockey family that is firmly anchored in the EHC Waldkraiburg : father, cousin and cousin played for the club from the Upper Bavarian town, his father later coached the men's team. His uncle was on the board of the EHC, his grandfather was an ice master. After starting out in his home town of Waldkraiburg, Pfohl moved to EV Landshut as a teenager . The talent scouts of the Düsseldorfer EG became aware of him and brought him to the Rhine in 2011. From 2012 he played for the Füchse Duisburg in the major league. First he had an additional license for DEG, then for Rhenish arch-rival Kölner Haie . He made his DEL debut in Cologne during the 2014/15 season.
In April 2015 Pfohl was hired by the DEL club Grizzlys Wolfsburg and received a license for the ice pirates Crimmitschau for additional assignments . He reached the DEL final series with Wolfsburg in spring 2016, where Munich was defeated. During the season he played 65 games, including the playoffs, scoring eight goals and preparing 25 goals. In recognition of his achievements in his first full DEL season, Pfohl was named New Professional of the Year . Also in 2017 he came to the final series with Wolfsburg and had to admit defeat Munich again.
He is returning to Cologne for the 2018/2019 season. This season he was the best preparer of his team in the preliminary round with 27 assists and their second best scorer with 35 points. In the 2019/20 season he moved back to the Grizzlys Wolfsburg after 17 games (4 points) within the DEL .
