Dustin Strahlmeier (born May 17, 1992 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with the Grizzlys Wolfsburg since the 2020/21 season .

Career

Dustin Strahlmeier began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth division of Moskitos Essen , for whose senior team he made his debut in the fourth -rate regional ice hockey league in the 2009/10 season . For the 2010/11 season , the goalkeeper moved to EHC Jonsdorfer Falken from the third-class ice hockey league , where he became a regular player straight away. At the same time, he also made his first appearance in the professional field for the Lausitzer Füchse from the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey . In the 2011/12 season , Strahlmeier joined SC Bietigheim-Bissingen , for whom he played regularly in the 2nd Bundesliga.

For the 2012/13 season , Strahlmeier finally returned to the Lausitzer Füchsen as a backup goalkeeper in the 2nd Bundesliga . At the same time, he was on loan with cooperation partner Jonsdorfer Falken in the major league. Due to an illness of the regular goalkeeper Jonathan Boutin , he came to several appearances in the DEL2 and won the first player of the month election in November 2013 due to his performance .

In March 2014, the Straubing Tigers from the German Ice Hockey League announced that Strahlmeier would be the second goalkeeper for the 2014/15 season . After he also spent the 2015/16 season with Niederbayern, the collaboration finally ended and Strahlmeier switched to the Schwenninger Wild Wings within the league for the 2016/17 season .

After four seasons with the Wild Wings from Schwenningen, the goalkeeper switched to the Grizzlys Wolfsburg for the 2020/21 season .

National team

In March 2018, he was appointed to the German men's national ice hockey team for the first time.
