Fachwerk is a place in the municipality of Wildalpen in the Liezen district in Styria .

geography

The place is at the confluence of the Lassingbach in the Salza, at about 550  m above sea level. A. This brook comes from the Zellerhüte area and divides the Lassingalpen (subgroup of the Ybbstal Alps ) over about 20 kilometers , with the Göstlinger Alps ( Dürrenstein region and Hochkar ) in the north and herbal group in the southeast. Half-timbered is located at the southern foot of the Hochkar ( 1808  m above sea level ), in a - for the otherwise narrow Salzatal - wide flood plain , southeast with the Hanserkogel  ( 1085  m above sea level ) and some other mountains below 1000 m the inner alpine location low mountain range. In the southwest lies the Große Torstein  ( 1330  m above sea level ), which belongs to the eastern foothills of the Kalte-Mauer- / Stanglgruppe of the Hochschwabgruppe .

The location - addresses, as a scattered settlement - also includes the individual layers on the right bank of the Salza downhill to Lahnbauer and on the left upward of the Salza, Glimitzer and Steinbruch . There are eleven buildings, four of which form the place itself.

Above Wildalpen, the road branches off from Hochschwab Straße B 24 ( Gußwerk near Mariazell to Erzhalden near Palfau via Wildalpen) through the Lassingbachtal.

In the later 17th century by the Innerberger main union of logging and timber floating on the Lassing started, and for this purpose a large wooden rakes built above framework.

The place is in the nature reserve Wildalpener Salzatal and in the nature park Steirische Eisenwurzen . There is a delightful promenade down the Salza, the old Salzatalstraße, via Lahnbauer, and then as a path to the beginning of the Palfauer Wasserlochklamm . An ascent to the Hochkar via Kleckplan to the Geischlägerhaus is also marked. In addition, the place is the starting point for bike tours in the Lassingtal, and the starting point and exit point for white water sports (rafting, kayaking) on ​​Salza and Lassing.
