Fantawild Holdings was founded in 2005 with the aim of founding, setting up and operating new amusement parks. The first amusement park was to be built in Jiangbei City in Chongqing Province . The park was completed around a year later and was officially opened to the public as Fantawild Sci-Fi Theme Park on April 28, 2006. The first Fantawild Adventure amusement park opened around 18 months later on October 22, 2007 in Wuhu City, Anhui Province .
Fantawild Holdings now owns at least 30 amusement parks, three of which are still under construction. The amusement parks are essentially divided into four categories. These include "Fantawild Adventure", "Fantawild Dreamland", "Fantawild Oriental Heritage" and "Fantawild Water Parks". In addition, the Chinese group now also exports amusement parks abroad. For example, she runs a theme park in the Iranian provincial capital, Isfahan . Further parks in Ukraine and South Africa have already been announced. Fantawild Holdings currently sees itself as a trendsetter and pioneer among Chinese theme park operators, especially when it comes to the creativity and variety of ideas when setting up theme parks and exporting theme parks abroad.
In 2013, Fantawild Holdings succeeded for the first time, with around 13.1 million visitors in the 2013 season, ranking among the ten largest amusement park operators in the world at number 9. Three years later, the parks were already visited by over 31.6 million guests in 2016 and in 2017 there were around 38.5 million visitors a year. This makes Fantawild Holdings the fifth largest leisure and theme park operator worldwide.
