Fergitz is a district of the municipality of Gerswalde in the Uckermark district in the north of Brandenburg .

geography

Not far to the east is the about 685 ha large Oberuckersee and southwest of Wrietzensee . West lies the 1,990.16 ha large nature reserve owl mountains .

history

Fergitz was first mentioned in a document in 1354. The place was named after the Oberuckersee, which originally also bore the name Fergitz . On September 1, 1965, Fergitz was incorporated into Kaakstedt . Fergitz has been part of Gerswalde since December 31, 2001.

Attractions

In the list of architectural monuments in Gerswalde , two architectural monuments are listed for Fergitz :

  • The native of the first half of the 14th century village church is a church hall in brick with a base of fieldstone . In 1727 the church was rebuilt and restored in 2003. The half-timbered tower top of the massive west tower from 1727 was renewed in 1866.
  • The village school (Fergitz 11) consists of a school house and a farm building.

Personalities

Dorothee Elisabeth Tretschlaff (1685–1701) was executed as a witch by beheading in Fergitz.
