history

The Vorwerk Arnimswalde was rebuilt in 1768 from the manor Fredenwalde. Alexander Magnus von Arnim owned all of Fredenwalde from 1714 after his brother Hans Adolf von Arnim had sold him his share. Alexander Magnus von Arnim died in 1727 and left his property to his son Alexander and his sons. His two older brothers Curt Friedrich and Hans Christoph had no children or only one illegitimate son, and the younger brother Friedrich Wilhelm fell off Prague in 1757. Alexander had died in 1753. In the division of the estate in 1768, the elder son Curt Friedrich von Arnim received the southern part of the manor. He built a new knight's seat east of the Sabinensee, which was originally called Neu Fredenwalde , later the place was then called Willmine, after the wife of Curt Friedrich, Hanna Wilhelmine von Dargitz. In addition, after the death of his brother Hans Erdmann, he owned the Neu-Temmen plant, which his father Alexander had founded in 1743 . The other half of the original knight's seat remained for the younger brother, Alexander Wilhelm von Arnim . After the establishment of the Klein-Fredenwalde manor, the spelling Groß Fredenwalde for the original manor Fredenwalde became established around this time. It has not yet been possible to determine with certainty which of the two brothers built the Arnimswalde Vorwerk. According to the historical local lexicon, Klein-Fredenwalde was pertinence to Groß Fredenwalde, and could therefore have been built by Alexander Wilhelm.

In 1772 Curt Friedrich sold Neu-Temmen to Gottfried von Dargitz. Curt Friedrich von Arnim died in 1793, leaving three daughters who were not entitled to feudal rights. His (feudal) property fell to his brother Alexander Wilhelm, who thus had sole ownership of the Fredenwalde manor again. Alexander Wilhelm was married to Albertine Luise Countess von Küssow, with whom he had the daughter Henriette Albertine Emilie, who married Carl Caspar von Langenn, and the inheritance-entitled son Wilhelm Georg, who was married to Caroline Henriette von Ahlimb. In 1768, Alexander Wilhelm also built the Albertinenhof farm , which he named after his wife. Alexander Wilhelm was king. Prussian Lieutenant General and holder of the Order of the Red Eagle and the Order of Pour le Mérite ; he died on September 26, 1809 in Berlin.

His only son Wilhelm Georg von Arnim inherited the entire property: Groß Fredenwalde, Klein-Fredenwalde, Arnimswalde, Willmine, Albertinenhof and a share in Sperrenwalde. From his marriage to Caroline Henriette von Ahlimb he had three daughters who were not entitled to feudal rights, so that the feudal estate Fredenwalde was divided again after his death in 1847. After lengthy inheritance disputes finally fell in 1857

  • Groß Fredenwalde and Albertinenhof to Ludwig Bernhard von Arnim (1784–1855) from the Götschendorf house, and to his son Friedrich Wilhelm Georg Ferdinand von Arnim (1832–1876)
  • Share Groß Sperrenwalde in the House of Milmersdorf and
  • Klein-Fredenwalde, Arnimswalde and Willmine to Friedrich Wilhelm Ludwig von Arnim (1824–1866) from the house of Neu Storkow in what was then the district of Dramburg , Pomerania province (until 1816 Mark Brandenburg ).

Friedrich Wilhelm Ludwig von Arnim was the third son of the Royal Prussian captain Gustav Ernst von Arnim von Neu Storkow in what was then the Dramburg district in (rear) Pomerania. Even his professional training was geared towards taking over the three estates Arnimswalde, Klein-Fredenwalde and Willmine, which he was finally awarded in 1857 after a ten-year feudal process. He had been married to Johanna Ottilie Strahl since 1857 and lived with her in Willmine. Their four children, three of whom died very young, were all born in Willmine. Friedrich Wilhelm Ludwig von Arnim died of a heart condition as early as 1866.

Heir to the goods Willmine, Arnimswalde and Klein-Fredenwalde was the only surviving son Ludwig Gustav Otto Gotthelf ( Ludwig ) von Arnim (1860-1936), who was only six years old at the time of his father's death. He went to the monastery school in Ilfeld , then learned the subject of agriculture and then had to join the military. In 1882 he said goodbye and now took over the management of the three previously leased properties into his own hands. Arnimswalde was still leased to the Oberamtmann Lindenberg in 1879. In 1885, Ludwig von Arnim was supported by the administrator and Oberamtmann Dreger. Ludwig von Arnim was initially deputy district administrator of the Templin district from 1890, from 1899 to 1920 he was full-time district administrator of the Templin district. He was also the governor of the Zehdenick monastery. In 1900 Ludwig Gustav Otto Gotthelf von Arnim sold the Willmine, Arnimswalde and Klein-Fredenwalde estates to Hans ( Hans ) Carl Georg Otto Heinrich Felix von Arnim in Neuensund and Mürow and moved into an official apartment in Templin.

In 1906 Hans von Arnim was also able to buy the Albertinenhof farm from Hubert Friedrich Abraham Christfried von Arnim (1861–1937). He let Ernst Krach manage the Albertinenhof. Soon after, he reforested the Albertinenhof area. As early as 1914, only forest was designated. He also had Arnimswalde and parts of Willmine afforested.

Hans von Arnim died in 1914. Heir to the Willmine estate (with Arnimswalde, Klein-Fredenwalde and Willmine) was his son Hans-Jochen August Albert Berthold Carl Helmuth Georg Friedrich Heinrich von Arnim (1884–1950). In 1923 Hans Gosch leased the Arnimswalde estate. Around 1924 Hans-Jochen von Arnim sold the arable land of the Willmine estate to Hans Gosch from Wilkendorf. He kept the forest areas and connected them to the Arnimswalde forest. At that time the Arnimswalde forest was 473 ha in size, the Albertinenhof forest part 272 ha.

In 1945/46 the property was expropriated and nationalized. In 1978 the area belonged to the Milmersdorf forest district of the Templin State Forestry Company based in Arnimswalde.

Vorwerk and settlement Arnimswalde

In 1775 the Vorwerk Arnimswalde consisted of three fireplaces , two of which were in a family house, probably a semi-detached house and certainly various farm buildings. Three Büdner or granny families lived in the houses, and the place had a total of 15 residents. In 1790 the knight-free Vorwerk was managed by a manager or sub-lessee . In addition to the tenant family, two granny families lived on the Vorwerk, a total of 156 residents in three fireplaces . In 1801 only two fireplaces are mentioned, and in 1840 only two houses. In 1860 there were three residential buildings and eight farm buildings in Arnimswalde. The place now had 45 inhabitants. The size of the estate is given as 376 acres of fields, 109 acres of meadows, 2 acres of garden land and 3 acres of farmsteads, for a total of 490 acres. 4 horses, 9 cattle and 254 sheep were kept on the farm.

Adolf Frantz, however, gives a total size of 503 acres, of which 376 acres are arable, 109 acres meadows and 117 acres pastures (adding up to 484 acres). In 1879 there was a starch factory in Arnimswalde. The size of the property is now given in hectares. The total size was 149.72 hectares, of which 100.34 hectares were arable, 16.35 hectares were meadows, 8.76 hectares were pastures and 24.27 hectares were forest. The property tax net income was set at 1204 marks.

The Handbuch des Grundbesitz im Deutschen Reiche of 1885 shows a large discrepancy between these values. There the total size is given as 313 hectares, of which 250 hectares are arable, 26 hectares of meadows, 9 hectares of Hutung, 25 hectares of forest and 3 hectares of land . The estate was administered by a senior inspector Dreger. The property tax net income is estimated at 1204 marks. Apparently these numbers were a mistake, because the handbook of real estate in the German Empire of 1896 gives the following values: 151 ha total size, 110 ha arable land, 30 ha meadows, 9 ha forest and 2 ha land . The three estates were managed by a tenant H. Wolke based in Arnimswalde. The starch factory was still there. The property tax net income is again given as 1204 marks. The next handbook of real estate in the German Empire from 1903 now reports the change of ownership, the administrator had also changed. The size had not changed, but the starch factory is no longer listed. The three estates were now administered by Ernst Krach, as in 1914. In 1923 the estates were leased again, and Hans Gosch is named as the lessee.

According to Niekammer's agricultural address book of manors, estates and farms in the province of Brandenburg from 1929, Hans-Jochen von Arnim was still the owner of Arnimswalde (forest) and Albertinenhof. Both properties were now largely afforested and held 473 ha (Arnimswalde) and 272 ha (Albertinenhof) forest. The forest was administered by forester Reichard. According to the historical local dictionary, Arnimswalde is said to have been sold to Landbank AG Berlin in 1924. Six farm positions were to be set up. However, the plans apparently did not materialize.

Local political history

At the time, Arnimswalde was part of the Fredenwalde manor and thus to the Uckermärkische Kreis of the Mark Brandenburg , with the district reform of 1816/17 then to the Templin district of the Brandenburg province . The Templin district was redesigned in the district reform of 1952 in order to be united with the Angermünde and Prenzlau districts to form the Uckermark district in the 1993 district reform .

In 1860 and 1871 Arnimswalde as well as Willmine and Klein-Fredenwalde still formed their own manor districts. Around / before 1874 the three manor districts Arnimswalde, Klein-Fredenwalde and Willmine were combined to form the manor district Willmine. In 1874 the Willmine estate was assigned to the 5 Groß Fredenwalde district of the Templin district. In 1881 Arnimswalde again formed its own manor district. In 1928 the Willmine estate was finally merged with the Groß Fredenwalde district to form the Groß Fredenwalde rural community. In 1931 and 1950 Arnimswalde was a residential area of Groß Fredenwalde. In 1971 Arnimswalde had the status of a district. In 1992, Groß Fredenwalde merged with 13 other municipalities to form the Gerswalde office . On December 31, 2001, Groß Fredenwalde was incorporated into the municipality of Gerswalde and, like Arnimswalde, has been part of Gerswalde since then.

Arnimswalde nature reserve
