Just a few hundred meters behind the western exit of Friedenfelde, the K 7349 branches off to Luisenhof and Groß Kölpin. The center of Friedenfelde is 60  m above sea level. NHN . The place had 14 inhabitants in 2009.

history

The place was founded in 1742/43 by the Royal Prussian Major Count Ernst Philipp von Münchow as a knight vorwerk . The name of the place is said to have come from the wish for peace of Count von Münchow, who had previously made the First Silesian War (1740–1742). The center of the manor village was the Friedenfelde manor, built in 1743 . According to the Arnim Chronicle, the area is said to have been an old Arnim property, which should have come into the possession of von Münchow during or after the Thirty Years' War. This does not seem improbable either, since Friedenfelde is completely surrounded by old Arnim property belonging to the Gerswalde manor. Ernst Philipp von Münchow was appointed adjutant of Friedrich II's wing in 1740 and was raised to the rank of count on November 6, 1741. He sold Friedenfelde in 1744 to the wife of Major General Friedrich Wilhelm von Syburg Martha Sophie von Holzendorf. In 1763 Joachim Erdmann von Arnim , the father of the poet Achim von Arnim Friedenfelde, bought Martha Sophie von Holzendorf for 14,500 thalers and set up his residence here.

Joachim Erdmann became a diplomat. He was Kgl. Prussian envoy in Copenhagen (1771), later in Dresden. In Berlin he became Director of Spectacles (artistic director of the opera). He was also canon in Brandenburg an der Havel (from 1770) and cathedral dean of Cammin. He was also a knight of the Order of St. John and designated commander on the upcoming Werben . He was awarded the Danebrog Order at the Danish court .

Joachim Erdmann had inherited the neighboring Neudorf as well as Kölpin and the village of Kaakstedt from his father in the Gerswalder inheritance from 1752 . He now combined Neudorf and Friedenfelde into one estate. Almost two kilometers to the south-west he founded a brickworks in 1769, which was only named Erdmannswalde a little later . The blacksmith von Neudorf had built a new smithy on the former Berlin-Prenzlau highway, which ran past Briesen and at a considerable distance past Neudorf to Gerswalde. This settlement was also given the name Achimswalde much later .

On November 30, 1777, Joachim Erdmann married Amalia Carolina Friederike Johanna Labes in Zernikow , the daughter of the legation secretary Johann (Hans) Labes and Elisabeth born. Daum. Hans Labes was ennobled by Emperor Franz I in 1763 , after which he was allowed to call himself Johann Freiherr von Labes. In 1780 Joachim Erdmann bought the little country Bärwalde , a Prussian enclave in Electoral Saxony, for 98,000 thalers , from the daughter of the late Colonel Sergeant Gottfried Emanuel von Einsiedel, Sophia Dorothea gesch. Von Grotthaus. However, he borrowed the money for the purchase from his mother-in-law Caroline Elisabeth von Labes. Johann Erdmann and Amalia Carolina Friederike Johanna Labes had two sons, Carl Otto Ludwig (called Pit ) (1779–1861) and Carl Joachim Friedrich Ludwig ( Achim ) (1781–1831) . Amalia Carolina Friederike Johanna died a few weeks after the birth of her second son in Berlin. Carl Otto Ludwig and his brother Achim grew up mostly with their grandmother in Berlin. Joachim Erdmann von Arnim died on January 17, 1804 in Berlin and was buried in Kaakstedt.

Achim von Arnim now owned the Friedenfelde estate together with his brother from 1804 to 1818. The manor house was falling into disrepair. In 1818 the von Arnim brothers sold Friedenfelde to a senior bailiff, Stendell. Neudorf with Erdmannswalde, Achimswalde and Stiern was separated and later formed its own manor district.

In 1818 linden trees were planted along the village road, some of which are still there. The planting was publicly praised in the government gazette. In 1829 the Friedenfelde estate was acquired by a chief forester Adolph Leberecht Walter. In 1835 he was elected arbitrator for the 7th rural district of the Templin district. He was a member of the Masonic lodge To the three golden keys in Berlin.

In 1857, Friedenfelde is said to have been owned by an angel. In 1860, Hermann Richard von Arnim (1833–1898) bought Friedenfelde. He was married to Wilhelmine Auguste Jacobine Therese Helene von Arnim from the Golm family.

In 1860 the Friedenfelde manor district had 59 inhabitants. There was a public building, eight residential buildings and 14 farm buildings in the village. The estate comprised 425 acres of arable land, 75 acres of meadow, 4 acres of homestead, 6 acres of garden land and 5 acres of forest. There were 9 horses, 12 cattle and 360 sheep on the farm. Friedenfelde was a knightly estate that was eligible for a circular. In 1863, Adolf Frantz gave slightly different figures: 475 acres total size, of which 225 acres were fields and 70 acres were meadows. Interestingly, he gives a wife von Arnim as the owner . As early as 1865 (or 1867) Hermann von Arnim Friedenfelde was selling again.

In 1879, Friedenfelde was owned by a Philipp Thomas. the total size, given in hectares, was 125.06 ha, of which 107.55 ha were arable, 16.16 ha were meadows and 1.35 ha were forest. The property tax net income is estimated at 1,241 marks.

In the Handbook of Real Estate in the German Empire of 1885, the total size is now given as 121 ha, of which 105 ha are arable and 16 ha are meadows. The property tax net income is set at 1165 marks. The owner was still a Philipp Thomas, now called Premier-Lieutenant . In 1895 Friedenfelde had 55 inhabitants.

The handbook of real estate in the German Empire of 1896 only gives slightly different figures: 121.40 hectares in total, 102 hectares of arable land, 18 hectares of meadows and 1 hectare of wasteland. The property tax net income is now 1164 marks. The owner was still Philipp Thomas, who had since left the army as a captain. In the Handbuch des Grundbesitz im Deutschen Reiche from 1903 the numbers are identical. Annois von Arnim is now listed as the owner. A tenant is not specified.

Wilm Siegmund Berthold Annois von Arnim (1865–1942) was a grandson of the poet Achim von Arnim. He lived in Wiepersdorf with his first wife and children. In 1925 he moved to Burow (Oberhavel district) with his second wife and their children .

Niekammer's goods address book for the province of Brandenburg from 1907 lists Friedenfelde with a total size of 122 hectares, of which 106 hectares are arable, 12 hectares of meadows, 1.4 hectares of wood and 1.25 hectares of wasteland. The property tax net income is estimated at 1165 marks. The property is still owned by Annois von Arnim, who however leased the property to Hinrich Schemel. The animal population was 11 horses, 42 head of cattle, 20 cows and 45 pigs.

In Niekammer's goods address book for the province of Brandenburg from 1914, the number of hectares is the same as in 1907. Only the number of animals had changed somewhat: 14 horses, 50 cattle, including 32 cows and 65 pigs. Hinrich Schemel was still the tenant.

In Niekammer's goods address book for the province of Brandenburg from 1923, the hectare numbers are as in 1907 and 1914. The animal population is as in 1914, but probably just not updated. Alt-Kölpin, Neudorf and Friedenfelde were now managed by an administrator Jacobs. According to the Arnim family chronicle, Annois von Arnim had given Neudorf and Friedenfelde to his son Achim for management.

Niekammer's property address book for the province of Brandenburg from 1929 still mentions Annois von Arnim as the owner, a lessee or administrator is not named.

In the course of the land reform after the Second World War , the property was expropriated and the agricultural land was given to new farmers . The areas were later cultivated by VEG Temmen . There was a school in the village, the building of which is now used for residential purposes.

Communal history

When Friedenfelde was built it still belonged to the Uckermärkischer Kreis of the Mark Brandenburg . With the district reform of 1816/17, three new districts were formed from the Uckermark. Friedenfelde came to the Templin district of the Brandenburg province . With the district reform of 1952 in the former GDR , the Templin district was given a completely new shape and was assigned to the Neubrandenburg district . With the district reform of 1993 in the state of Brandenburg, the three districts of Angermünde , Prenzlau and Templin were combined to form the district of Uckermark.

From its foundation, Friedenfelde was its own manor, which Neudorf was attached to in 1763. In 1769 Achimswalde (called that much later), Erdmannswalde and the Vorwerk Stiern were added. After the sale of Friedenfelde to Amtmann Stendell in 1818, Neudorf, Achimswalde, Erdmannswalde, and Stiern were separated again and now again formed a separate manor. From 1850, Friedenfelde formed its own manor district, which was assigned to District 5 Groß Fredenwalde of the Templin district in 1874 . In 1928 the manor districts of Friedenfelde and Neudorf were combined to form the community of Friedenfelde. In 1931 and 1967 the community had the living spaces Achimswalde, Erdmannswalde, Alt Kölpin and Stiern. Neudorf was also a residential area in 1931 and 1950, but in 1957 and 1971 it was a district.

In 1992 Friedenfelde merged with 13 other communities to form the Gerswalde office . Peacefelde was an independent municipality until December 31, 2001, but was then incorporated into Gerswalde. Today, Friedenfelde is part of the municipality of Gerswalde.

Friedenfelde manor house

The manor house in Friedenfelde was built by Ernst Philipp von Münchow in 1742/43. After 1763 Joachim Erdmann von Arnim had the manor house rebuilt in rococo style with towers and decorations. He also had a large park laid out. Around 1820 it was rebuilt to simplify matters. After 1945 13 refugee families were housed in the manor house . Apartments were later divided into it. In 1978 it was placed under monument protection. Today it is registered under number 09130433 on the list of monuments of the state of Brandenburg for the Uckermark district. In 1990 it came into the administration of the trust. In 1996, the previous tenant family, Nowatzki, bought the manor house and began restoring it. A café has been operating in the manor house since May 2001.

Church history

The village has no church, but was parish to Gerswalde. Today services are held in the chapel in the cemetery.
