The Dundee Airport ( IATA code : DND ; ICAO code : EGPN ; Engl. : Dundee Airport ) is the airport of the city of Dundee in the northeast of Scotland . It lies in a south-westerly direction about 3 km from the city center, on the banks of the Firth of Tay with a view of the Tay Rail Bridge . The operator is Dundee Airport Ltd., a subsidiary of Highlands and Islands Airports Limited .
Dundee Airport is the closest airport to the championship golf courses at St. Andrews , Gleneagles and Carnoustie .

The A85 runs directly past the airport, it leads to the city center via the A90 and Kingsway, the airport is approx. 3 km from the city center.
bus
It is a short taxi ride from Dundee Airport to Dundee Bus Terminal, with many regional bus services. Buses from local operators can also be booked.
railroad
The airport is also a short 4-minute taxi ride from Dundee Railway Station. The station is located on the East Coast Main Line to Aberdeen , Edinburgh , Leeds and London and is also on the Glasgow-Aberdeen line with Glasgow connected. Dundee Station is served by ScotRail , London North Eastern Railway , CrossCountry and the Caledonian Sleeper .
Incidents
- On Friday, October 24, 2003, a six-seater Socata TBM 700 with US registration landed 200 meters from the runway in the Tay Estuary. A hovercraft was deployed and the occupants were rescued from the aircraft in about 15 minutes. The four people on board were only slightly injured.
- On Monday, June 6, 2005, a flight instructor and student pilot escaped unharmed when a Grob G 115 crashed through a fence at Dundee Airport after the student pilot got into trouble. The aircraft was largely damaged in the accident.
