history

Forndorf was originally the name of a castle on which the north mountain pastry masters sat. The name means before the village . 1364, the daughter of the last cake master who died without male offspring, Forndorf wore the burgrave Nuremberg the suzerainty on. In the same year the hereditary marshals of Pappenheim were enfeoffed with the castle. In 1422 they sold their claims to the Schenk von Geyern . In 1435 it came to the lords of Ehenheim, 1529 to the lords of Seckendorff , and in 1539 to the lords of Heideck . Then the fiefdom fell back to the Principality of Ansbach, which was the legal successor to the Nuremberg Burgraviate. The manor and its affiliations were transformed into the margravial administration office of Forndorf . In 1590, Margrave Georg Friedrich built Forndorf Castle there , but nothing has survived today.

Forndorf was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . In 1732 the place consisted of 11 properties (1 brickworks, 1 economy, 1 smithy, 8 properties, 1 sheep farm). There was also 1 castle, 1 shepherd's house and 1 fall house. The administration of Forndorf was entitled to rule over the village and the community and to rule over all properties. Nothing in these conditions changed until the end of the Old Kingdom . From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .

With the community edict (early 19th century) Forndorf was assigned to the tax district and the rural community of Wieseth.
