Frank Meyer (born July 14, 1974 in Krefeld ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and has been Lord Mayor of the North Rhine-Westphalian city ​​of Krefeld since October 21, 2015 .

Life

Meyer's grandmother immigrated to Krefeld with her daughter from the Silesian city of Breslau and found a job as a secretary at the Bayer factory in Uerdingen . His paternal grandfather was a Krefeld velvet weaver from the northern district. In his childhood Frank Meyer and his parents Richard and Christa lived in Uerdingen. His father was involved in the union . In Uerdingen Frank Meyer first attended elementary school Heinrich school and made 1994 the Abitur at the Gymnasium am Stadtpark Uerdingen . Hobbies

Frank Meyer has been enthusiastic about the Beatles since his youth . His passion for music motivated him to learn how to play the electric bass himself .
