Franz Rampelmann (born September 14, 1951 in Hausham ) is a German actor . He became known as Olaf Kling in the television series Lindenstrasse .

Life

Franz Rampelmann is the son of the actress Hannelore Alberding and the theater manager Adolph Rampelmann. He grew up in Schliersee and attended the Tegernsee high school . He graduated from high school in 1972 at the Christian von Bomhard School in Uffenheim . At that time he demonstrated his artistic abilities as a violinist in the school orchestra and in the orchestra "Westenhofener Barockmusikfreunde" by Sixtus Lampl with public appearances in Benedictine monasteries in Upper Bavaria.

Rampelmann made his first stage experiences at the age of 16 as a Schuhplattler at home and dance evenings in the Schlierseer Bauerntheater as well as in numerous appearances all over Germany. He is a member of the "Volkstrachtenverein Schliersee eV Stamm 1888". After graduating from high school, Rampelmann did a six-month internship at the Osterseeon experimental station ( Bavarian State Institute for Agriculture ). He studied the cultivation of seeds as well as pig breeding and forest management. From 1973 to 1975 he continued his studies as a graduate agricultural engineer at the Technical University of Munich in Freising . At the same time, he completed a six-month training course at Bavarian Broadcasting in 1973 to become a program and news anchor. From 1973 to 1977 he worked in the three radio programs of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation. In 1975 Rampelmann began his training as an actor with Peter Rieckmann in Munich. In 1976/77 he studied at the Zerboni drama school in Munich. In 1978 he moved to the Bonn Theater . His specialty there was the character role . In 1979 Rampelmann completed a course at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in Hollywood. In 1980 he began working for television and lent his voice to numerous ARD productions as a radio play speaker . In 1993 he became known for the role of Olaf Kling in the series Lindenstrasse , which he played until 2008.

In 1981 Rampelmann made a four-month tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland with the drama Der Richter von Zalamea by Calderon de la Barca and appeared for several years in numerous small theaters in Munich, especially at Theater K by Wolfgang Anraths. He played a guest role in 1983 at the Ulm Theater in the title role of the opera Arlecchino by Ferruccio Busoni . In addition, he taught dramatic design at the Drama School Zerboni and was responsible for coaching in the 12-part television series Our Neighbors, the Baltas at Bavaria Film . Rampelmann supported the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party in several election campaigns as a non-member . He is an avowed member of Scientology . After this membership became known, the party distanced itself from him. In addition to his work as an actor, Rampelmann has been a coach for rhetoric and phonetics since 2017 . Rampelmann lives in Cologne .
