Friedel Nowack
Friedel Nowack (born September 13, 1901 in Bremen , † May 15, 1988 in East Berlin ) was a German actress.
Live and act
After attending the Lyceum, Nowack received private acting lessons in her hometown and made her debut at the theater in 1919 (also in Bremen). This was followed by engagements in Wiesbaden , Berlin ( Rose Theater ), Frankfurt am Main ( Neues Theater ) and, during the emigration, to Vienna ( Theater in der Josefstadt ), Bern and Zurich . She returned in 1946 and settled in East Germany or the GDR. There she worked both on the stage ( Young Ensemble Weimar ) and in film ( DEFA productions).
In East Berlin she was seen at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater (1952-64) and at the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm, among other places . Her best-known stage roles include Marwood in Gotthold Ephraim Lessing Miss Sara Sampson and mother Wolffen in Gerhart Hauptmann's Der Biberpelz . Friedel Nowack has also worked as an acting teacher and has appeared in several television films.
