Friedrich Maurer (born April 17, 1901 in Mannheim , † March 2, 1980 in Munich ) was a German actor .

Life

Friedrich Maurer was born the son of a factory worker in the industrial city of Mannheim. After completing a business apprenticeship and acting training with the well-known German silent film actor Robert Garrison , he received his first theater engagement in Frankfurt / Main in 1924 . Further engagements in Koblenz, Riga, Königsberg and Leipzig followed. Until 1960 he was engaged in the West Berlin Schiller- und Schloßparktheater , which was united from 1950 , before he joined the Bavarian State Theater in Munich until his death .

Parallel to his theater appearances, the character actor Maurer also found engagements in film and television and mainly appeared in supporting roles . Like many German actors from West Germany, he was also of the East German DEFA - film studios committed, but turned to the closing of borders only films in the West.

His grave is in the Waldfriedhof (Munich) , New Part.
