Friedrich Christian Rettig, Minister of the Interior of Baden in 1845.

Friedrich Christian Rettig (born July 1, 1781 in Heidelberg , † September 10, 1859 in Karlsruhe ; Protestant) was a lawyer and in 1845 was interim head of the Ministry of the Interior in Baden . He was also a member of the Baden state parliament for many years .

family

Franz Rettig was the son of Franz Daniel Rettig (born August 3, 1724 in Kaiserslautern , † August 1, 1794 in Heidelberg), clerical administrator in Heidelberg, and Charlotte-born Rittmann, daughter of Konrad Rittmann, director of the marriage court in Heidelberg. He was married to Maria Elisabeth nee Krutthof. Life

Friedrich Rettig studied law at the University of Göttingen from 1796 and at the University of Heidelberg from the summer semester of 1797 . On May 16, 1801 he was electoral Palatinate right candidate and on September 4 of the same year lawyer at the Oberamt Bretten . On September 20, 1803 he was clerk at the Neckargemünd office . After the electoral Palatinate was dissolved, he was accepted into the Baden state service and on December 16, 1807, he took up the position of bailiff and head of the cork office . On December 31, 1809, he was appointed head of the district office of Bretten , where he was promoted to senior bailiff on August 25, 1814. On January 23, 1819, he became the head of the district office of Weinheim and, from July 16, 1825, city director at the Freiburg municipal office . On June 30, 1827 he was transferred to the Ministry of the Interior as a ministerial advisor , and from 1830 onwards he was appointed district director of the Seekreis in Constance . On December 31, 1835 he was appointed Privy Councilor 2nd class. On October 10, 1839, at the request of State Minister von Blittersdorf, he was put into temporary retirement and reactivated as Ministerial Director on December 3, 1844 . He then held the interim management of the Ministry of the Interior until the new minister Karl Friedrich Nebenius took office in March 1845. On December 19, 1846, Rettig became government director of the Middle Rhine District in Rastatt . On August 23, 1849, he was first service locum tenens and then land commissioner in Karlsruhe. On December 23, 1858, he was retired at his own request.

Political activity

Friedrich Rettig was electoral commissioner in constituency 2 (city of Konstanz) on November 15, 1830 and in 1831, 1833, 1835 a member of the second chamber of the Baden state assembly of constituency 2 for the 5th to 7th state parliament. In 1841/42, 1843/45, 1845/46, 1847/49, 1850/51, 1851/52, 1854, 1855/56 and 1857/58 he was also a member of the constituency 31 (offices of Philippsburg and district office of Schwetzingen ) of the 11th until 18th state parliament.
