Furthammer is a district of the district town of Wunsiedel in the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtelgebirge in northeast Bavaria . In 2000, 171 people lived in Furthammer. Opposite the district is the district of Schönbrunn.

Furthammer is located in the valley of the Röslau (river) on the district road WUN9. Parts of the village that are on the B 303 belong to the municipality of Tröstau .

history

The settlement was on an old road that came from Kemnath , ran over the Wurmlohpass between Kosseine and Hohe Matze and ran through Schönbrunn to Hof . The hammer mill on the Röslau ford was mentioned in the land register of the six offices in 1499 . To the west of the village there was a tin and gold soap factory in 1709 , and a tin smelter was built in 1729.
