Günther Keckeis
Günther Keckeis (born September 27, 1939 in Feldkirch ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Keckeis was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament from 1974 to 2004 and, with his 30 years of membership, is the longest serving SPÖ member of the state parliament in Vorarlberg.

Günther Keckeis was born on September 27, 1939 as the son of the railway worker August Keckeis and his wife Rosiana in the Vorarlberg district capital Feldkirch. After visiting primary, lower secondary and trade school in his home town of Feldkirch visited Keckeis 1957 the working middle school in Innsbruck, where 1962 he in a Externistenreifeprüfung exam graduated . At the same time, he was employed as a commercial clerk at the Kunert stocking factory in Rankweil from 1956 to 1962 . From 1962 studied Keckeis at the University of Innsbruck law . He graduated in 1966 with the promotion of Doctor of Law from. On January 1st, 1967, he became head of the economic department of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Labor .
Political career
After the state elections in Vorarlberg in 1974 , Günther Keckeis was sworn in for the first time as a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament on November 4, 1974 . From April 13, 1975 to April 1, 1990, Keckeis was also a member of the Feldkirch city council . From May 31, 1980 to April 1, 1990, he was also city councilor for health care, old people's and nursing homes, and corpses and funeral services. From 1992 to 2005 he was again a member of the Feldkirch city council.
On November 14, 1987 Günther Keckeis was appointed by the Presidium of the SPÖ Vorarlberg as designated state party chairman. However, he withdrew his candidacy for the office of state party chairman in spring 1988 because he refused to expand the lower Ill , whereupon Arnulf Häfele was elected party chairman. On November 17, 1993 Keckeis was by the members of the XXV. Vorarlberger Landtag elected 2nd Vice President of the Landtag, which he remained until the end of the legislative period on October 3, 1994. In 1994 he became deputy chairman of the SPÖ's state parliament, and from November 8, 1999 he was chairman of the club. After the state elections in Vorarlberg in 2004 , Günther Keckeis left the state parliament on October 4, 2004. Since Keckeis had been on leave as a full-time politician in the Chamber of Labor since January 1, 2000, he retired in 2004.
