Sandra Schoch (born February 26, 1971 in Au ; born Sandra Jenny ) is an Austrian politician ( GREEN ) and has been a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament since 2014 . She has been the second vice-president of the state parliament since 2019. Schoch is also Vice Mayor of the Vorarlberg state capital Bregenz , married and has two children.

Career

Sandra Schoch was born on February 26, 1971 in the Bregenzerwald community of Au , but actually comes from the neighboring community of Mellau . There she attended elementary school and then secondary school in Bezau before graduating from the HTL Dornbirn in the textile engineering branch . She also attended the commercial college at the Bregenz commercial academy , where she also passed the commercial Matura.

Schoch completed the university course “Personnel and Organizational Development” at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences at the University of Innsbruck from 2001 to 2003 , after which she completed several advanced training courses as part of the equal project “job.plan” on the subjects of gender mainstreaming, diversity management and non-discriminatory job evaluation . From 2011 to 2014 Schoch was the project manager of the Vorarlberg women's vocational center. From autumn 2012 to spring 2016, she completed the master’s course Leadership, Politics and Management at the FH Campus Wien and graduated with a Master of Arts in Political Management (MA).

Political functions

In May 2013, Sandra Schoch took over the post of Vice Mayor of the state capital Bregenz. In addition, until November 2014 she was deputy head of IT and Consulting and deputy head of the UBIT section in the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce for the Green Economy . She is a member of the state board of the Greens Vorarlberg .

After the state election in Vorarlberg, which was successful for the Greens in 2014, Sandra Schoch moved up as a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament in place of Katharina Wiesflecker , who entered the black-green coalition government as state councilor.

There she is currently the area spokeswoman for the Green Parliamentary Club for the social affairs, senior citizens, women and equality departments as well as security and chairwoman of the social policy committee of the Vorarlberg regional parliament. In the constituent state parliament session of the 31st legislative period on November 6, 2019, Schoch was elected by the Vorarlberg state parliament as the second vice-president of the state parliament.
