Christoph Thoma

Christoph Thoma (born October 3, 1973 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian cultural manager and politician ( ÖVP ). He has been a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament since November 6, 2019 .

Career

Thoma graduated from the Bundesgymnasium in Bregenz and then studied trumpet , choir and ensemble conducting at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory in Feldkirch . From 2002 to 2006 he was head of music education at Jeunesse Austria in Vienna . In 2006 he returned to Vorarlberg and headed Bludenz Kultur until 2008 . As managing director and artistic director of the Graz venues Orpheum , Dom im Berg and the Schloßbergbühne Kasematten GmbH, he worked in Graz between 2008 and 2012 . At the end of 2012 he took over the management of Bregenz Tourism and City Marketing in Bregenz . During his term of office, Bregenz was named “City Brand of the Year 2014” at the ninth cultural brand awards at the “Night of Cultural Brands” in Berlin . In his role as Head of Tourism, he initiated the application of the Rhine Valley cities of Bregenz, Dornbirn , Feldkirch and Hohenems as European Capital of Culture 2024 . This was followed by a short spell as Director of Tourism, Culture and Events at Esterházy in summer 2016. There he was a short time for the positioning of the sites Esterházy Palace , Forchtenstein , Lackenbach Palace and the Opera House in Quarry St. Margaret responsible. In mid-September 2016 he returned to Vorarlberg. At the same time, he supported the Rhine Valley cities as a cultural capital advisor until the end of 2016. Political career

Christoph Thoma was city councilor for cultural affairs in Bludenz from July 9, 2015 until he moved to Eisenstadt on June 30, 2016. After his return to Vorarlberg, he was re-elected to the city council for culture and associations in Bludenz on March 23, 2017. Since July 2018 he has been the deputy city party chairman of the Bludenz People's Party and a member of the regional executive committee of the Vorarlberg People's Party and the district management of the Bludenz district . In April 2019 he was elected to number 1 on the VP state list for the state elections in Vorarlberg 2019 .

Private

Christoph Thoma, who lives in Bludenz, is married and has two daughters.
