Manuela Auer (born August 1, 1965 in Bludenz ) is an Austrian Chamber of Labor functionary and politician ( SPÖ ). She has been a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament since November 15, 2017 .

education and profession

Manuela Auer was born on August 1st, 1965 in Bludenz. After attending elementary and secondary school, she spent a year at a polytechnical school before graduating from the technical school for women's economic professions. She later attended a high school for working people.

Manuela Auer gained her first professional experience at the Bludenz youth center and as a supervisor in an all-day kindergarten and after-school care center. Subsequently, in 1994 she became the regional office manager of the Dr. Karl Renner Institute in Vorarlberg . Auer has been working full-time as the country manager of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions since 2000 . She is also appointed as a lay judge in labor and social justice at the Feldkirch Regional Court .

Political career

Manuela Auer is politically active in the SPÖ and is particularly committed to employee rights. She is a member of the parliamentary group of social democratic trade unionists , for which she works both in the ÖGB and in the Vorarlberg Chamber of Labor. She is currently Vice President of AK Vorarlberg.

After her party colleague Reinhold Einwallner in the parliamentary elections in 2017 in the National Council was elected, Manuela Auer was nominated by the Social Democratic Party as its successor in the State Parliament of Vorarlberg. In the state parliament session on November 15, 2017, she was sworn in for the first time as a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament and thus one of three members of the SPÖ club in the Vorarlberg state parliament in the 30th legislative period . In the 2019 state election , Auer was re-elected and then moved into the state parliament for the 31st legislative period as a member of the SPÖ state parliament club, which was made up of four members after the state election .

Private life

Manuela Auer is married and has one son. She lives in the district capital Bludenz in the south of Vorarlberg.
