Bernhard Feuerstein (born December 2, 1983 in Andelsbuch ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. Feuerstein has been a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament since 2014 .

education and profession

Bernhard Feuerstein was born on December 2, 1983 as the son of Johann Jakob and Luzia Feuerstein in the Bregenzerwald community of Andelsbuch and grew up there. He attended elementary school in Andelsbuch and secondary school in Egg before graduating from Hohenems Agricultural School from 1998 to 2001 .

His professional career started in 2001 as Feuerstein Schlosser - apprentice with the company fields mechanics in his home town Andelsbuch. After passing the journeyman's examination in 2004, he worked as a locksmith at Felder Mechanik until 2005 . He then worked in his parents' farm and finally took it over in 2012. A year later, in 2013, he passed his master's examination in agriculture.

Political career

Bernhard Feuerstein has been a party member of the ÖVP since December 15, 2005 through his membership in the Bauernbund , an ÖVP sub-organization. Since 2005 he has been both the cash auditor of the Bregenzerwald farmers 'association and a member of the district management of the Bregenzerwald farmers' association. In addition, he was a functionary of the rural youth / rural farmers' union for eight years , four of which (2005 to 2009) he was regional chairman of the rural youth in Vorarlberg. Since the municipal council election in 2010 , Feuerstein has been a member of the municipal council in his home municipality of Andelsbuch.

Along with his election to the Vorarlberg state parliament, Bernhard Feuerstein also became a member of the district party leadership of the ÖVP Bregenzerwald as well as the state party committee of the ÖVP Vorarlberg in 2004 .

On November 5, 2014, Feuerstein was sworn in as a candidate for regional councilor Bernadette Mennel as a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament. In the state parliament of the 30th legislative period , he took over the function of the area spokesman for the ÖVP state parliament club for the topics of the environment, waste management and animal welfare. In addition, he was elected deputy chairman of the Committee for Environment and Climate Protection in the 30th legislative period.
