Daniel Zadra (born December 24, 1984 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian politician ( Greens ) and lawyer. He has been a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament since 2014 .

education and profession

Daniel Zadra was born on December 24, 1984 in the Vorarlberg state capital Bregenz . From 1990 to 1995 he attended the private Montessori elementary school in Altach , before moving to the lower level of the Bundesrealgymnasium and Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium Dornbirn-Schoren in 1995. There he also completed the upper school and finally passed the Matura with distinction in 2003 . In 2003/04 Zadra did civilian service at the dowas association - the place for people looking for accommodation and work in Bregenz.

Daniel Zadra then studied law and political science at the Universities of Vienna and Prague from 2004 . 2009 took place at the University of Vienna first the graduation Magister philosophiae (Mag.phil.) In Political Science, 2010 then the Master's degree iuris (Mag.iur.) In Law. He wrote his diploma thesis on the situation of piracy off the coast of Somalia . In 2011 he completed his legal practice at the district courts of Dornbirn and Bregenz and at the Feldkirch regional court . Daniel Zadra then attended a university course for sustainable development in San José in Costa Rica and a special course for management functions in social work at the Academy for Social Management in Vienna.

Since 2011 Zadra has been working as a program manager in international cooperation and as coordinator of international volunteer work for Caritas foreign aid. Daniel Zadra is the father of two children and lives in partnership in his home town Lustenau.

Political career

Daniel Zadra became politically active for the first time with the Greens in their Lustenau community group in 2012, and since February 2014 Zadra has been a member of the Vorarlberg Greens regional board . He was elected to the Vorarlberg state parliament in the state election on September 21, 2014 in the constituency of Dornbirn and sworn in in the 30th Vorarlberg state parliament on October 15, 2014.

In the 2015 municipal council elections , Daniel Zadra was also elected as a member of the Lustenau municipal council for the first time .

Four years later, in the 2019 state election , Zadra was re-elected as a member of the state parliament. In the course of this he was also chairman of the Green State Parliament Club for the 31st legislative period of the Vorarlberg State Parliament . In terms of content, he is responsible for asylum, agriculture / nutrition, data protection / consumer protection, Europe, budget / finances and mobility in the Green Parliamentary Club.
