Christoph Metzler (born February 14, 1963 in Rankweil - Brederis ) is an Austrian politician ( GREEN ) and has been a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament since 2014 . Professionally, he works as a site manager in urban water engineering. He is divorced and has two grown daughters.

Professional and political career

After completing his apprenticeship as a mason, Metzler completed a building trade school. He was a journeyman bricklayer, foreman and construction foreman and has been a site manager since 1988.

Metzler is one of the founding members of the Green Community Group in his home town of Rankweil , the Green Forum Rankweil. He has been a member of the local council in his home parish since April 1995, and has been a local councilor since 1996. In the run-up to the 2020 municipal council and mayoral election , Metzler submitted the top candidacy of the Rankweiler Greens in order to be able to concentrate on the club chairmanship in the municipal council and the state parliament mandate. In 2013, Metzler was elected to the state board of the Greens Vorarlberg .

After the green election success in the state elections in September 2014 , Metzler moved into the Vorarlberg state parliament as a member. In the state elections in 2019 , Metzler was again able to secure a mandate in the Feldkirch electoral district . He is the area spokesman for the areas of environment, nature and climate protection (including natural hazards), housing, transport, energy / water management and waste management in the Green Parliamentary Club.
