Vahide Aydın
Vahide Aydın (born Yılmaz ; born October 3, 1968 in Elbistan ) is an Austrian politician ( Greens ) and social worker of Turkish origin. Aydın has been a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament since 2009 .
education and profession
Vahide Aydın was born to Alevi parents on October 3, 1968 in the Elbistan district of Turkey . In 1978 she emigrated with her parents from Turkey to Austria, where the family settled in Schwarzach in Vorarlberg. Aydın attended the Bundes-Oberstufenrealgymnasium in Lauterach , studied at the Social Academy in Bregenz from 1990 to 1993 and worked from 1993 to 2000 as a social worker and career advisor for young people of migrant origin in the advice center of the Association for the Care of Foreigners in Dornbirn. Since 2000 she has been employed as a social worker at the Institute for Social Services.
Political career
Aydın joined the Dornbirn Greens in 2000 and is a member of the Dornbirn city council . In 2006 she was elected to the regional board of the Vorarlberg Greens . She has been the spokeswoman for the Green Migrants since 2007 and came in at number 5 on the state list of the Greens in the state elections in 2009 and number 4 in the Dornbirn constituency. Aydın achieved 1239 preferential votes in the constituency of Dornbirn and was therefore ranked third in this constituency. Since the top candidate Johannes Rauch , who ran in first place in all electoral districts, accepted the direct mandate in the Feldkirch district and the second candidate Katharina Wiesflecker accepted her direct mandate in the Bregenz district, Aydın moved up to the direct mandate of the Greens in the Dornbirn district. The previous Green MP from the Bludenz constituency, Karin Fritz , resigned from the state parliament because she did not receive a direct mandate and Bernd Bösch ( Dornbirn constituency ), who was in front of her on the state list, was given the fourth seat by the Greens.
In the course of the state elections in 2014 , in which the Greens were able to win strongly, Vahide Aydın was confirmed as a member of the state parliament of the Greens Vorarlberg. Even after the state elections in 2019 , Aydın was again able to obtain a basic mandate in the Dornbirn electoral district and was thus also represented in the state parliament of the XXXI in its constituent meeting on November 6, 2019 . Legislative period again sworn in as MPs. She is the area spokeswoman for the areas of integration / migration, anti-discrimination / human rights / minorities, inclusion, sport, community service and work in the Green Parliamentary Club.
Private life
Vahide Aydın lives in Dornbirn , is married and the mother of two children.
