Gau-Algesheimer head - extension

The Gau-Algesheimer Kopf nature reserve - extension is located in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The 29.5 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1990 , extends east of the city of Gau-Algesheim . Not far to the west, the Welzbach flows and runs along the L 415 state road .
The area includes oak and hornbeam forests with small standing water bodies and wet depressions.
