The Sandlache nature reserve is located in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The 57.66 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1979 , extends not far south of the Rhine north of the core town of Ingelheim am Rhein along the Alte Sandlach. The A 60 runs south.

The area includes water and water change areas, soft and hard wood floodplains, wet and dry meadows.
