In Mayen

The Im Mayen nature reserve is located in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The approximately 17 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1990 , extends west of the local community of Stadecken-Elsheim along the Selz . State road 428 runs not far to the north and state road 413 to the south.
The area, which in the conservation area is "Selztal" includes a portion of Selzniederung showing natural creek, large area of reeds reeds and wet broke , trees, pollarded trees, temporary shallow water and ground wet, often flooded grassland - and farmland.
