Gau-Algesheimer head
Coordinates: 49 ° 57 ′ 7 ″ N , 8 ° 1 ′ 51 ″ E
The Gau-Algesheimer Kopf nature reserve is located in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The 46.55 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1980 , extends south of the city of Ingelheim and east of the city of Gau-Algesheim . Not far to the west, the Welzbach flows and runs along the L 415 state road .
The area includes mixed deciduous forest and shrubbery.
