Sand pit on Weilersberg
Coordinates: 49 ° 59 ′ 35 ″ N , 8 ° 5 ′ 46 ″ E
The nature reserve Sandgrube am Weilersberg is located in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The approximately 9.5 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1986 , extends west of the local community Heidesheim am Rhein directly on the L 422, which runs northwards . The A 60 runs a little further north.
The area is an abandoned sand pit and adjoining areas with damp, alternating damp and dry areas.
