Georg Friedrich Adalbert von Ferentheil and Gruppenberg (born August 16, 1818 in Bellmannsdorf , † February 4, 1889 in Görlitz ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Origin and family

Georg was a member of the Silesian noble family Ferentheil and Gruppenberg . His parents were the Prussian captain and heir to Bellmannsdorf and Oberhalbendorf Georg von Ferentheil and Gruppenberg (1787-1825) and Charlotte von Scheliha (1792-1843). He married Juli Donner called gatekeeper (1830–1904) in Breslau in 1850 . The marriage resulted in ten children, four of whom died young. The sons Kurt (1858–1915), colonel , commander of the Vorpommerschen Feldartillerie-Regiment Nr. 38 in Stettin and Fritz (* 1868), captain , teacher at the war school in Danzig followed their father in the soldier's profession in the Prussian army .

Career

Ferentheil began his career in 1829 as a cadet in Potsdam , moved to Berlin in 1832, still as a cadet , before becoming second lieutenant in the 10th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army in 1835 . From 1842 to 1843 he was ordered to sixth combined reserve battalion, regiment in 1846 was adjutant and 1850, adjutant of the 12th Infantry Brigade .
