Ghostbusters: Legacy is American science fiction - Fantasy - Comedy and continuation of Ghostbusters - Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters II (1989). Gil Kenan wrote the script with Jason Reitman , who also directed. The film was originally scheduled to hit theaters in mid-2020, but the theatrical release has been postponed to March 2021 due to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic .

After they had to vacate their house, single mother Callie moves with her children Trevor and Phoebe to her late father's estate in Summerville, Oklahoma. Trevor soon discovers strange utensils - weapons and equipment that, according to his teacher Grooberson, indicate that his grandfather was once a member of the "Ghostbusters". A teaser was published on January 16, 2019 and the first trailer on December 9, 2019. The film was originally scheduled to hit US cinemas on July 10, 2020 and launch in Germany on August 13, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the cinema release has been postponed to March 2021.

According to Dan Aykroyd , you have at least one or two other concepts for the Ghostbusters. He also wrote a script for a prequel : In the feature film or TV project Ghostbusters High , Venkman, Spengler and Stantz are said to meet for the first time in New Jersey in 1969 .
