Gianina Elena Beleagă (* 21st May 1995 in Câmpulung Moldovenesc ) is a Romanian lightweight - rower .

Athletic career

Gianina-Elena Beleagă won the title at the 2012 Junior World Championships with the Romanian eighth . At the Junior World Championships in 2013 , she defended this title in eighth place . In 2014 she finished sixth at the U23 World Championships with a double scull .

In 2015 she competed in the lightweight double scull with Ionela-Livia Lehaci . The two finished eighth at the European Championships , fifth place at the U23 World Championships and thirteenth place at the World Championships . At the qualifying regatta for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, which took place in Lucerne in May 2016, Beleaga and Lehaci came second behind the Dutch Ilse Paulis and Maaike Head . In Rio de Janeiro at the Olympic regatta , the two Romanians took eighth place.

Lehaci and Beleaga started the 2017 season with fourth place at the European Championships . At the end of July they won the U23 World Championships . Two months later, they also won the title at the World Championships in Sarasota . In 2018, the two Romanians finished fourth at the European Championships , a month and a half later they won the World Championships in Plovdiv . With her partner, who is now called Ionela-Livia Cozmiuc after the marriage , she finished fourth at the World Championships in Linz-Ottensheim .
