Gilad Bloom ( Hebrew גלעד בלום; * March 1, 1967 in Tel Aviv ) is a retired Israeli tennis player.

Career

Bloom won a total of four doubles titles on the ATP Tour in his career . He was also in another double final, as well as in three other finals in the individual competition. In Grand Slam tournaments , he achieved his best results with the last sixteen in 1990 singles at the US Open and in 1992 with the quarter-finals in doubles at the Australian Open .

He took part in a total of two Olympic Games: 1988 in Seoul and 1992 in Barcelona . In 1988 he competed in both singles and doubles with Amos Mansdorf . While he was defeated by the British Jeremy Bates in five sets in the individual already in the opening round , he prevailed with Mansdorf against the Irish Owen Casey and Eoin Collins in four sets. In the round of 16 they then lost against the Danes Morten Christensen and Michael Tauson in three straight sets. In 1992 he only competed in singles, where he initially eliminated the Slovak Marián Vajda . In the second round he had no chance against the top seeded American Jim Courier .

Bloom played a total of 17 games for the Israeli Davis Cup team between 1986 and 1995 . Both his single balance with 10:17 and his double balance with 3: 5 are negative.
