The Gmina Jasień [ 'jaɕeɲ ] is a town-and-country municipality in the powiat Żarski of the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name ( German Gassen , Upper Sorbian Gasyn ) with about 4400 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality covers an area of 127 km² and borders the city of Lubsko (Sommerfeld) in the north . The district town of Żary (Sorau) is about ten kilometers southeast. The Lubsza (Lubst) is one of the waters .
history
In January 1976, the village of Zabłocie (Raudenberg) came from the dissolved Gmina Krzystkowice to the municipality. This has belonged to the Spree-Neisse-Bober Euroregion since 1993 .
