Euroregion Spree-Neisse-Bober
The Euroregion Spree-Neiße-Bober ( Polish: Sprewa-Nysa-Bóbr ) represents the cross-border region of the Spree-Neiße district and the southern part of the Lebus Voivodeship . Its name is derived from the three rivers Spree , Neisse and Bober in German and Polish Lusatia. Founded on September 21, 1993, it paved the way for cooperation in the border area between Germany and Poland .
The area of the Euroregion is around 9359 km² (German part: 1812 km², Polish part: 7547 km²) and the population is around 919,000 (German part: 273,000, Polish part: 646,000).
