The Gmina Mirosławiec ( municipality of Märkisch Friedland ) is an urban and rural municipality in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . The headquarters are in the eponymous town of Mirosławiec ( Märkisch Friedland ). The municipality occupies an area of 203.27 km² and thus claims 14.4% of the entire Powiat Wałecki ( Deutsch Krone district ). Almost 6,000 people live in the municipality.

The municipality is located in the northwest of the Powiat Wałecki , which is itself in the southeast of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship . Neighboring communities are:
- Gmina Tuczno ( Tütz ) and Gmina Wałcz ( Deutsch Krone ) in the Powiat Wałecki , as well
- Kalisz Pomorski ( Kallies ) and Wierzchowo ( Virchow ) in the Powiat Drawski ( Dramburg district ).

Streets
The Gmina Mirosławiec is located on the important Polish national road 10 ( Stettin - Płońsk ( Plöhn ), which runs on the route of the former German Reichsstrasse 104 ( Lübeck - Schneidemühl ), and is only 26 kilometers from the Wałcz ( Deutsch Krone ) road junction . The Voivodeship Road 177 also connects the municipality with Czaplinek ( Tempelburg ) in the north and Człopa ( Schloppe ) siwue Wieleń ( Filehne , already located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship) in the south.
rails
Since 1900, today's municipality was connected to the railway network via the Kallies (Kalisz Pomorski) - Virchow (Wierzchowo) - Falkenburg (Złocieniec) route . This railway line was closed to passenger traffic in 1996, so that a rail link only exists for goods traffic.
air traffic
Mirosławiec owns an air base and is the seat of the 12th air base of the Polish Air Force . In January 2008, a CASA C-295 military aircraft crashed near the air base with serious consequences .
Honorary citizen
The Mirosławiec Municipality has granted honorary citizenship to four people :
