Gogolewo (German levelow ) is a village in the west of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and belongs to the rural community Marianowo ( Marienfließ ) in the powiat Stargardzki ( Stargard district in Pomerania ).
Geographical location
Gogolewo is ten kilometers northeast of the district metropolis Stargard ( Stargard in Pomerania ) on the Polish state road 20 (former German Reichsstraße 158 ), which runs from Stargard to Gdynia ( Gdynia ). In the village, side streets from Pęzino ( Pansin ) and Kicko ( Kietzig ) join the main street.
Less than two kilometers south of the village, the Gogolewo railway station has been located on the railway line that runs from Stargard to Danzig since 1859 .
The Krampehl (Krąpiel) flowing past on the eastern edge of the village is also the border to the neighboring town of Dalewo ( Dahlow ).
history
Until 1945, the place previously known as levelow formed an official and civil registry district into which the neighboring community of Dahlow was incorporated. He was in the district of Saatzig in the administrative district of Stettin in the Prussian province of Pomerania .
The municipality Pegelow then belonged Vorwerk Birkhof (Polish: Brzeźno), about 4.5 kilometers southwest area. In 1933 Ebeneow had 495 inhabitants, in 1939 there were already 527. The last German mayor was the farmer Gustav Hein .
In 1945 Ebeneow was given the Polish name Gogolewo. The village is now part of the Gmina Marianowo in the Stargardzki powiat in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship (1975 to 1998 Szczecin Voivodeship ).

Parish church
The Ebeneow Church was a boulder building that was later plastered. After a fire in 1643, the church's woodwork was renewed in 1827. The detached tower is also said to date from 1827. The church, which was Protestant until 1945 , was expropriated in 1945 in favor of the Catholic Church . It was consecrated again on October 17, 1945 and was named Kościół pw.Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej (Church of Our Lady of Czestochowa ).

Since 1945, predominantly Catholic church members have lived in Gogolewo. The parish now belongs to the Dean's Office Stargard-Wschód (Stargard-Ost) in the Archdiocese of Stettin-Cammin of the Catholic Church in Poland . Evangelical church members are parish in the Trinity Parish in Stettin in the diocese of Wroclaw of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .
