Grądy Podmiejskie is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Orzysz ( urban and rural municipality Arys ) in the Powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ).

Geographical location

Grądy Podmiejskie is located in the eastern Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 25 kilometers northeast of the district town of Pisz ( German  Johannisburg ).

history

There is no evidence of the history of today's suburb of Orzysz . The place name suggests a reference to the neighboring town of Grądy ( German  Gronden , 1938 to 1945 Grunden ), with the addition to the name indicating the suburban location. Administratively, both places are actually connected because the village of Grądy is the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Sołectwo in Polish ), in which Grądy Podmiejskie is included.

Religions

In terms of the church, Grądy Podmiejskie is part of Orzysz in the diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland , while the Protestant residents of the parish in Pisz in the diocese of Masuria belong to the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

traffic

Grądy Podmiejskie is located on the important Polish state road 63 (former German Reichsstraße 131 ), which today runs from the Polish-Russian to the Polish-Belarusian border. The next train station is Orzysz on the Czerwonka – Ełk ( German  Rothfließ – Lyck ) railway line, which is no longer regularly used .
