Matyszczyki ( German Grüneberg ) is a small place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the Gmina Orzysz ( town and country municipality Arys ) in the Powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ).
Geographical location
Matyszczyki is located in the east of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship, 26 kilometers north of the district town of Pisz ( German Johannisburg ).
history
Consisting of a large courtyard, Grüneberg was founded in 1857. Until 1945 the small town was a dwelling place in the rural community Czierspienten (1905 and 1945 was: altitude, Polish Cierzpięty ) and belonged to the circle Johannesburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen (1905: Administrative district Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia .
In 1945, the entire southern came Prussia in consequence of the war to Poland . This also affected Grüneberg, which received the Polish form of name "Matyszczyki". Today it is a small place within the Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) Pianki ( German Pianken , 1938 to 1945 Altwolfsdorf ) and belongs to the association of the urban and rural community Orzysz (Arys) in the Powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ), until 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .
Religions
Until 1945, Grüneberg was parish in the Evangelical Church of Eckersberg ( Polish: Okartowo ) in the church province of East Prussia, the Church of the Old Prussian Union, and in the Roman Catholic Church of Johannisburg ( Polish: Pisz ) in the Diocese of Warmia .
Today, on the Catholic side, Matyszczyki belongs to the parish Okartowo in the Diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant residents stick to the church in Pisz in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Matyszczyki is a little away from the traffic and can be reached via a country road that branches off the secondary road 1698N between Drozdowo (Drosdowen , 1938 to 1945 Drosselwalde) and Cierzpięty (Czierspienten , 1905 to 1945 above sea level) in an easterly direction.
