Okartowo-Tartak is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the Gmina Orzysz ( urban and rural municipality Arys ) in the powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ).

Okartowo-Tartak is located in the eastern Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, east of the village of Okartowo (Eckersberg) . Its name (the Polish "Tartak" denotes a "sawmill") suggests an industrial company around which a small housing estate (Polish "Osada" = " hamlet ") is entwined. There is no evidence of the site from before 1945, so it was probably only built in the post-war period. The name suggests that it belongs to the neighboring town of Okartowo, in whose Schulzenamtsiertel ( Polish Sołectwo ) it is now also incorporated. Okartowo-Tartak thus belongs to the urban and rural municipality of Orzysz in the Powiat Piski , until 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

Okartowo-Tartak is parish in the Catholic parish of Okartowo in the Diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland and in the Protestant parish of Pisz ( German  Johannisburg ) in the Diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

North of Okartowo-Tartak the no longer regularly used railway line Czerwonka-Ełk ( German  Rothfließ-Lyck ) passes. The next train station is Okartowo with a stop in Okartowo-Przystanek . The place is on the important east-west traffic axis of the Polish state road 16 . In town ends the side road 1849N, which runs from the state road 63 via Nowe Guty (Gutten (E) , 1935 to 1945 Seegutten) to here.
