Nordwestring underground station
The underground station Nordwestring (short name of the operator: NW ) is a station of the Nuremberg underground and was opened on May 22, 2017. It is 713 m from the Klinikum Nord underground station and is currently the north-western terminus of the U3 line. It is used by around 5,200 passengers every day.
location
The station is located on the border of the Nuremberg districts Bielingplatz and Wetzendorf and extends underground in an east-west orientation across the north-west ring between Bielefelder Strasse and Heimerichstrasse.
The structure is at a single depth (7.70 m) below the surface of the earth. At each end of the platform there is an elevator, as well as fixed and escalators, which represent a direct connection to the surface.
Behind the underground station, under Bielefelder Straße, there is a 170 m long, double-track tunnel, which is used as a parking or turning facility.
