Egyd Gstättner

Egyd Gstättner (born May 25, 1962 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian publicist and writer .

Life

Egyd Gstättner studied philosophy , psychology , pedagogy and German at the University of Klagenfurt . During his studies he began to publish in magazines such as manuscripts , protocols , literature and criticism or the Wiener Journal .

Since his graduation in 1989, he has lived as a freelance writer in Klagenfurt, where he wrote numerous essays a. a. for the Süddeutsche Zeitung , Die Zeit , Die Presse , Falter , Kurier and Die Furche . He was particularly well known in the south of Austria with his satires in the Kleine Zeitung . In addition, he wrote and designed features for the Austrian radio programs Ö1 and Radio Kärnten as well as for Bavarian Broadcasting. In 1993 he was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD.

In 1990 the first independent book was published ("Herder, Frauendienst" in the "Salzburger AV Edition"). By 2018, a total of 34 books by Gstättner were published by Zsolnay , Amalthea , in Edition Atelier and since 2008 by Picus Verlag Vienna. Since 2016 he has had a second residence in Vienna .

He has two grown daughters and is married.
