Guido Waldemar Michelmann (born January 16, 1823 in Brandenburg an der Havel , † August 3, 1898 in Berlin ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

He was the son of the Prussian Rittmeister Gottlieb Michelmann (1780–1858) and his wife Christiane, née Kühne (1789–1863). The later major general Louis Ferdinand von Michelmann (1817-1892) was his older brother.

Military career

Michelmann attended the city ​​school in Zossen and joined the 20th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army as a fusilier on October 12, 1842 . There he was on 23 March 1843 Portepeefähnrich and patent for the February 20, 1847 second lieutenant promoted. In 1849 Michelmann and his regiment took part in the suppression of the Baden Revolution and served from October 1, 1849 to August 31, 1855 as an adjutant of the 1st Battalion. During the war against France in 1870/71, Michelmann did not take an active part in the fighting, but commanded the regiment's reserve battalion. This was followed on April 23, 1872 as a commander of the fusilier battalion in Oels and on September 2, 1873 his promotion to lieutenant colonel .
