Halifan (Kurd. Xelefan or Xelîfan , until 2017 Derinçay ) is a village in the district of Karlıova in the Turkish province of Bingöl . Halifan is located in Eastern Anatolia at 1690 m above sea level, about 23 km southwest of Karlıova.

The original name of the village was Halifan until 1928. This name is registered with the land registry office. The renaming took place before 1962.

In 2009 the village had 859 inhabitants.

Halifan has a primary school and is connected to the drinking water supply. Asphalt roads and a sewer system are missing.

According to various sources, the village of Derinçay was renamed Halifan again in 2017.
