Hans-Dieter Hosalla

Hans-Dieter Hosalla (born December 8, 1919 in Erfurt , † August 18, 1995 in Berlin ) was a German composer and stage musician .

Life

Hans-Dieter Hosalla was born on December 8, 1919 in Erfurt and completed his apprenticeship as a clerk in 1939. During the Second World War he was honored with several prestigious awards and was promoted to lieutenant in the reserve on May 3, 1945. After studying piano, conducting and composition in 1946/1947 at the Thuringian State Conservatory in Erfurt and in 1947/1948 at the State University of Music in Weimar , he worked at the Landestheater Meiningen and then freelance for cabaret before moving to Berlin in 1951 the newly founded technical school for artistic dance went. From 1953 to 1956 he worked there as head of the music department and composer. In the 1956/57 season he moved to the Berliner Ensemble , where he worked as composer, musical director, musical head director and then as musical director until 1984.

In addition to many compositions of independent songs, he was represented on various sound carriers and created the music for various radio plays.

Hans-Dieter Hosalla was first married to the dancer Brigitte Hosalla, who died on March 30, 1984, and was then married to Gisela Hosalla. He died on August 18, 1995 in Berlin.
